New Year’s Resolutions That Could Work

December 31, 2008

Today I say good-bye to 2008, and tomorrow I say hello to 2009.

I was reflecting on 2008 as to what happened, and I tried to make a list of the things I didn’t want or that didn’t work, and to my surprise the list of what is working has so much more than what doesn’t work or what I do not want in my life.

It is getting easier this life of mine. Aging feels like a gift rather than a curse.Being 55 and still alive really feels good, and when I have a day with a doubt or two the doubts gently turn into something I can use to serve my growth if that makes any sense.

I want to share with you some of my incredible projects and experiences from 2008 which will motivate and inspire me to keep on keeping on through 2009 and beyond.

My friend, Uschi started

Pennies In Action December of 2008, and by October 2008, we raised over 100 thousand dollars mostly with small change.

July of 2008, Michele

Alyson and I started a Blogtalk show called Real Life Only Better which has taught me so much about using ideas that work rather than the ones that do not work, and feeling the difference between what I want and what I really don’t want.

A perfect example is the show we co-hosted this past Monday about refreshing ideas for New Year’s resolutions was a blast. You can check it out either by listening to our show or looking at the blog Michele so kindly posted after the inspiring show finished.

I am experiencing more inner peace, which could be why life is so much easier, and the stresses that come up are easier and kinder as I deal with them with more dignity, with less drama, and some kind of inner knowing that all is well.

Maybe as we grow older we discover inner wisdom which in my humble opinion goes way beyond our belief systems.

Whatever is happening, I am grateful to be a part of life rather than apart from life.

May all of us allow ourselves just a little willingness to use what works and pay attention to what does work long enough to get a feel, a sense, an inner flavor if you will which will enable us to not just survive, but thrive in 2009.
